Hey everybody,
So, I was wondering how long does it take to get my primary verified, if I submit it today or in a few days for early decision and regular decision respectfully? Would it be verified pretty quickly for early decision? Thank you all so much for all of your time, insight, and assistance..... it is all greatly appreciated!!!!! .....
You can only submit early decision for a SINGLE school. If you submit for early decision you cannot, repeat, cannot add any other schools until you get a decision from the early decision. AMCAS is taking up to 8 weeks to verify and I rarely suggest any student apply EDP, especially in this cycle

Why this cycle especially?
If OP hasn't submitted yet, he has to wait up to 8 weeks for verification which means it won't be transmitted until 5-6 weeks after schools get applications. That means schools won't review it until 5-6 weeks after their other early decision applicants. If they decide to reject OP, that means he's lost at least a couple of weeks when he could've been applying to other schools.

Why this cycle especially?
Because of the pandemic.
1) Many colleges are working remotely and/or with reduced staff. Getting transcripts sent electronic.
ally, faxing, and especially by mail, is slow
2) if paper transcripts (which last year 50% were) the USPS is moving slower because there is a huge reduction in commercial flights which often carry the mail
3) The AAMC workforce and processing center that does verification is not formally opened. There is a skeleton staff that is checking mail box and scanning in transcripts. that itself can take 10 business days
4) whether electronic or paper, it can take up to 15 business days to be marked received.
5) only after both primary application and all transcripts have been received, do you enter the verification queue and wait your turn

My transcripts have already been received! Is it possible to switch from early decision to regular decision, if there was a huge delay in processing? Does the AAMC and AMCAS allow that?
no, if you attempt to withdraw your application to do so, you will forfeit your right to apply this cycle
